Jem and Benjie

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged, hasn’t it? Well, hopefully as the wedding draws nearer, the more things there will be to write about!

In the mean time, I have plenty of photos stored up to show you, just follow the link below to have a look!

I love this photo. Making the save the date cards took a long time but was well worth it. When we visit people now we play “Spot the Magnet”! I’m glad we thought of doing them that way, many people have commented on how handy it was to make them magnets.

The day the save the date cards were sent.

We went to the reception of Donna and Paul’s wedding last year (Congratulations!) and while there saw these cute bears. We’re on the look-out for something similar

This image I’m sure you’ve seen a lot already. This is how our reception will look, I can’t wait to see it on the day.

This is the free diary given to me at a wedding fayre, it has lots of useful information in it and has been valuable in pointing us in the right direction with regards to dates.

We’re hoping that on the day we can convince everyone to have their photo taken. The polaroid pics will combine to make a guestbook where each guest (or couple) writes a message on the bottom of the photo. So be prepared!

This is Jamie. He was going to be our best man, but he’s in Australia from July to September! We hope he has a great time out there!

This is one of the ideas my Mum and I had while we were designing the invites. I like the hearts theme, which ended up appearing on the envelopes.

One of the wedding dresses that caught my eye. By November I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted and we went ahead and brought a dress (Don’t worry, it’s not this one. Only my family and the bridesmaids know what it looks like, the rest of you will have to wait!). Mum’s going to add the finishing touches to it, along with the netting and things.

I really like the look of this cake topper, and I’ve asked my Grandad (who is a whiz as modelling) if he’ll make me something similar. He’s decided that Fimo isn’t elegant enough to fit in with the style of the day (he’s seen my dress, which is pretty elegant, I guess) and is making one out of plaster of Paris instead. I don’t mind, the more that we can make ourselves for the Wedding the more personal it is. I’m sure he’ll make a good job of it!

Window shopping for ideas is thirsty work these days. This was all solved by a “Monsterchoc” drink at Haskins - the biggest hot chocolate drink I’ve ever seen!

This is the image I’ve given our florist to copy the style of flowers for the boquets and table decorations. I really like the just-picked wild flowers look, and it should fit in nicely with the marquee and picnic style of the wedding. I’m looking forward to seeing everything put together.

This is how our invites turned out. They were all hand-decorated and so each one is unique. I owe a lot of thanks to Holly, Katya and my Mum for help with these.

This stunning view is promised at our honeymoon hotel, The City Plaza in Athens. I’m looking forward to the holiday as much as the wedding day.
